NYX Cosmetics Haul - Review

Week is flying by with this time change! LOL. So, I stopped by the mall last week. I went in for one thing and left with 20 others; shocker, right? Anyways, as I was strolling through, I noticed that the NYX Cosmetics store just opened recently and so naturally, I HAD to go in. As you may know by now, I'm obsessed with this brand. How they don't charge more for such good products is beyond me, but at the same time I'm think to myself, "please keep these prices forever and ever because they don't break the bank when I stock up on my favorites."

You've probably seen me review the lip gloss a dozen times already so I'll keep it short. My absolute fave, go-to gloss and it's $5. Nuff' said. Also comes in a bazillion colors.

I've also reviewed the jumbo eye pencils before, but I went back to get more colors (LOL). I got another dark brown one (I had the solid brown, so I got one with shimmer in it, SO PRETTY). Perfect for creating a smoky eye, or just using it as eyeliner. I got the lime one as a fun 'going-out' color to branch out of my comfort zone. It looks amazing layered on top of the brown with a warm brown smoky eye.

The eyeshadows are amazing. Now, being a person that's on their 3rd Naked palette from Urban Decay ($54 each!!) I had high expectations for this palette (only $10) and they were definitely met. The consistency is smooth and they go on very evenly! I also got the Pro Blending Brush just because I like each of my palette sets to have their own brushes. It's my OCD. :)

The nail polish is also very pretty. I would have liked it to be a little less see through, because I had to apply like 3 coats to get it to be opaque, but nonetheless I really like it. Make sure to top off with shiny top coat since it does get a little matte looking if you don't.

The bronzer I use as a contour. I don't like bronzers with shimmer if I'm using them as contour. Because then, think about it, my blush has shimmer, my highlighter has shimmer, my primer has a bit of shimmer, so I don't want to look like a Christmas tree when all is said and done. Really like this product.

I wasn't a huge fan of the mascara but maybe this is just me. I feel like it took me 5 minutes to build up the amount of "coverage" that I wanted on my lashes. For something that is supposed to give volume and curl, I certainly had to work for it. My Benefit Roller Lash mascara goes on thick, but not clumpy and I'm done with my mascara in about 1 minute in the morning or less. But then again, YOU may love it. I don't have very thick or long lashes, so I like my mascara to give mine a little more oomph.

Saving the best for last. I'm so incredibly happy with this highlighter. To be honest, I grabbed it at the end of my haul while walking to the register and was like "hey this looks cool! How much is it? 7$? Ok cool, I'll try it!" By far, one of the best highlighters I've ever had. I'm thinking it may trump my $38 Becca one. Or they're on the same level depending on the look you're wanting to achieve. Not too glittery, just visible enough to give you a healthy, subtle glow on your cheeks. Definitely, highly recommend.
