Thursday already! Another week almost done. So happy Friday Eve, I guess? Ok down to business. I'm sure you've probably noticed by now, I'm all about finding the deals, and looking very well put together at the same time. Professional and stylish. I want that look for less, that can't pass up deal, that more bang for my buck, the early bird get the worm....wait...nevermind. You get the idea.
Anyways, when it comes to clothes, I especially want to get a good deal since it seems like clothes nowadays don't last nearly as long as they used to. I find myself cleaning out my closet more and more often just because my wardrobe mysteriously shrinks, magically gets holes in them, and unavoidably starts to pill. Even the most expensive items pill. I HATE IT. DOES ANYONE ELSE FEEL LIKE THIS?!
So, in a nutshell, I like to splurge on investment pieces that WILL last a while and be stylish for years to come. I think it all comes down to what is important to you. Do I want to be hip every season and wearing ALL the latest trends? Not really. Do I only participate in the trends that best suit me? Probably. Or do I want to stay everlastingly classic? Definitely.
Take a gander at the pieces above. The glasses? Pretty classy, I'd probably splurge. Purse? No way. I feel it's a trend piece that won't really be in too much longer. Jeans? Definitely, it's a closet staple. Although, here's a tip. Yes, it's easy to justify spending $200+ on jeans because they're such a staple. BUT, it's also easy to find cheaper jeans that are just as good for a fraction of the price in a few places. Shirt? Hell nah. Ruffles/bell sleeves will be gone soon, so save yo money. Shoes? Personally I like to save because I go through shoes like nobody's business, and I constantly like to have fresh shoes, if that makes any sense. WITH THE EXCEPTION of sneakers. I will invest in those because I think comfortable, supportive athletic shoes are a must.
Hope you enjoyed today's post! Let me know what you think! I'd love to hear your comments on saving vs. splurging and what your favorite expensive/cheaper pieces are!
